Mweka Camp lies at the upper edge of the rainforest on the southern slopes, and is the last night on the mountain for Machame, Lemosho and Umbwe climbers.

After the long summit day, the thicker air and warmer temperatures make for the best night's sleep of the trek, and the celebrations usually start here.
