Karanga Camp lies in the Karanga Valley beneath Kibo's southern icefields, reached after scrambling up the Barranco Wall.

It is the last place on the southern circuit where water can be collected. Our 7-day Machame and Lemosho itineraries spend a night here, and the 9-day Lemosho adds a full rest day for extra acclimatisation.
