Crater Camp lies inside Kilimanjaro's summit crater, close to the Furtwängler Glacier and the Ash Pit, and is one of the highest campsites in Africa.

It is used only when the Western Breach is open. Sleeping here means a short final climb to Uhuru Peak at sunrise, but the altitude and cold make it a night for well-acclimatised, experienced climbers.
