Kibo Hut is a stone building at the foot of Kibo's summit cone, on the edge of the lunar Saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi.

It is the base camp for the summit on the Marangu and Rongai routes. Climbers arrive in the afternoon, eat an early dinner and rest for a few hours before setting off for Gilman's Point and Uhuru Peak around midnight.
